🗓️ May 2025
At Khwisero Technical and Vocational College, we’re excited to introduce a major upgrade to how we train our students. It’s called modular training, and it’s designed to give you more flexibility, hands-on skills, and a clear path to success.
🌟 What is Modular Training?
Instead of one long course, learning is now broken into smaller, manageable parts called modules. Each module focuses on a specific set of skills and lasts just three months. After completing one module, you can:
- Proceed to the next level
- Go for industrial training
- Or even enter the workforce right away!
📈 How Do You Progress?
Here’s how you move through the levels:
1️⃣ Start at the Artisan Level
Perfect for beginners, this level teaches you basic, hands-on skills.
✔ Example module: Food Handling and Processing Techniques
After completing Module 1, you can:
- Go for industrial training
- Get certified
- Continue to Module 2
2️⃣ Move to the Craft Level
Build on what you learned with more technical and supervisory skills.
✔ Example module: Baking and Fermentation Technology
After Module 2, you can:
- Do more advanced industrial training
- Earn your Craft Certificate
- Apply for better jobs or go to Module 3
3️⃣ Advance to the Diploma Level
Specialize, lead, and innovate. This level prepares you for high-skill roles or even entrepreneurship.
✔ Example modules: Product Development, Quality Assurance, Entrepreneurship
After completing Modules 5–7, you’ll graduate with a full Diploma and can take your career to the next level.

💼 Why This Is Great for You
- Flexible: Learn at your pace. Pause or continue when life changes.
- Practical: Every module teaches industry-relevant skills.
- Opportunity-Driven: Start working after just one module or come back later to progress.
- Recognized: Earn certificates at every stage to show real progress.
👨🍳 Sample Program: Food Processing Technology
Artisan Level: Learn how to safely handle food and process basic products.
Craft Level: Train in baking, dairy, or meat processing, then go for industrial training.
Diploma Level: Learn to develop new products, manage quality, and run food businesses.
Each level builds on the one before it — and after every stage, you’re certified and job-ready!
📝 Entry Requirements & How You Progress
Here’s the best part: Your KCPE or KCSE results no longer limit your future. Everyone now starts at Module 1 (Level 3), regardless of their exam scores.
🧭 Step-by-Step:
- Module 1 (Level 3):
- All students begin here.
- If you have KCPE only, you’ll go for industrial training before continuing.
- If you’ve done KCSE, you can move directly to Module 2 after passing — no training needed.
- Module 2 (Level 4 – Artisan):
- KCPE students can return for Module 2 after training.
- KCSE students with a D– or E must go for industrial training before Module 3.
- Those with a D, D+, C–, C or higher can move directly to Module 3.
- Module 3 & 4 (Level 5 – Craft Certificate):
- Learn technical and supervisory skills.
- After Module 4, all students must go for industrial training, regardless of background.
- Module 5, 6, and 7 (Level 6 – Diploma):
- Deepen your specialization and leadership skills.
- After completing all three, you’ll go for final industrial training before graduating with a full Diploma.
🚀 Your Future Starts Here
